Eric Nelson

Since his admission to the Bar, Mr. Nelson has practiced exclusively in the area of criminal defense establishing a solid reputation as a highly skilled attorney. Mr. Nelson’s experience includes successfully representing clients charged with all levels of crimes through negotiation, jury trial and at the Court of Appeals. Mr. Nelson’s experience includes homicide, sex offenses, drug offenses, assaults and hundreds of DWI and alcohol-related traffic offenses. Mr. Nelson has also represented individuals faced with civil commitment as a sexually psychopathic personality/sexually dangerous person.

Mr. Nelson has represented clients throughout the state of Minnesota. Mr. Nelson focuses the majority of his practice in Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Scott counties. In 2007, Mr. Nelson was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin. He has represented clients in Dunn, St. Croix, Barron, and Washburn counties.

Mr. Nelson is a frequent lecturer on various criminal topics including driving under the influence of a controlled substance and the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Eric routinely speaks throughout Minnesota and serves a judge in moot court and mock trial competitions. Additionally, Mr. Nelson has also been a contributing author to the Minnesota DWI Deskbook, the most comprehensive DWI sourcebook for attorneys in Minnesota.

Mr. Nelson resides in South Minneapolis with his wife and three children. He is active in various community organizations.
